Military medicine is a unique calling.  We are often called upon to provide aid in diverse, isolated and frequently dangerous environments.  Whether at sea or on shore the practice of deployed medicine is distinct from that practiced in the typical hospital.  We must be experts not only in clinical medicine but also in providing that care in extreme circumstances.

Operational Medicine is designed to help you provide medical support under these difficult conditions.  It will serve as a training tool, quick reference guide and invaluable resource in your support of the men and women of the armed forces.

Along with the US Special Operations Command I take great pleasure in making this resource available to you.
