This patient has lost a prosthetic crown...a simple
diagnosis. The treatment will vary depending on whether he still has the crown or not.
If
the crown is available, then:
- Clean the internal surface of the crown.
- Isolate, clean, and dry the tooth.
- Affix the crown with zinc oxide and eugenol temporary cement (IRM).
If the crown is not available, then:
- Isolate, clean and dry the tooth.
- Affix aluminum temporary as above, if available.
- Otherwise, cover base with stomahesive.
Refer all patients who have lost a prosthetic crown to the dental clinic for placement
