  Description:

  • Topical antifungal

  Indications:

  • Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ring worm)

  • Cutaneous Candidiasis

  • Tinea versicolor

  Contraindications:

 Known sensitivity to miconazole

Precautions:

  • Pregnancy category C

  • For external use only, avoid applying near eyes.

  • If condition worsens or a rash develops, inform patient to discontinue and notify health care provider.

  • Continue therapy for two weeks for tinea cruris and tinea corporis, one month for tinea pedis and from two weeks to a month for tinea versicolor.

  Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

  • Minor local irritation may occur.

Dosage:

Cream and lotion: 

  • Apply to affected areas twice a day (once daily for tinea versicolor)

Powder: 

  • Apply to affected areas twice a day
